Scutellaria lateriflora, or American Skullcap, needs cold stratification (moist chilling for 1-3 months) or fall sowing for germination, requiring light and moist conditions, often in wet areas with sun to part shade, used medicinally for calming nerves, and pollinated by bees, flies, and butterflies.
